Alista Michoacán state phase of the First ‘K’eri Ireta Tournament’

Morelia, Michoacan (MiMorelia.com).- More than 3,000 Michoacans from 40 municipalities gave life to the Intermunicipal and Regional stage of the First ‘Torneo K’eri Ireta’which will conclude this weekend with the state process at the facilities of the State Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (Cecufid) and of the Army of the Revolution Sports Center (CDER).

In this competition, which in Purépecha means “Great Town”, the disciplines of soccer, basketball and volleyball are played. It consists of three stages, two of them have already been carried out, so now the state stage will be developed with the semifinals and finals with 13 participating municipalities, in both branches and free category.

The women’s soccer teams that will fight for the championship are Acuitzio, Tacámbaro, La Piedad and Múgica; For their part, Santa Ana Maya, La Piedad, Sahuayo and Gabriel Zamora in men’s will compete in the ‘semis’ with the purpose of accessing the last instance and thus keep the highest distinction.

In women’s basketball, the quintets from Uruapan, Tacámbaro, Zacapu and Zinapécuaro seek the title, while in the men’s branch the squads from Tingüindín, Jacona, Uruapan and Tacámbaro want to keep the position of honor of the first edition of this tournament.

The municipalities of Múgica, Santa Ana Maya, Uruapan and Venustiano Carranza are in the women’s volleyball semifinals in the fight for the trophy that endorses them as the best in said discipline; and in the men’s category, Múgica, Uruapan, Tingüindín and Venustiano Carranza do the same.

On Friday, August 5, the reception of the delegations will be held and later a coexistence between the players of the three disciplines, coaches, directors of the unit and the media. On Saturday, August 6, the semifinals will take place in the morning and the finals in the afternoon at the Cecufid and CDER facilities.
