Alfredo Morelos criticized for his attitude and recurring expulsions | Colombians Abroad

That’s how idols are, it’s happened to everyone in football. The ravages of an expulsion were seen in Scotland with an Alfredo Morelos who has been in the eye of the hurricane during this transfer market. Some want him to stay, others want a change of scenery for the ‘Buffalo’, but everything seems to indicate that he will continue in the ranks of Glasgow Rangers. It is worth noting that it is not the first time that he has seen the red one or that he has been criticized for earning it.

Alfredo Morelos returned to the field of play, and in what way scoring a goal in the first match after his return due to the serious injury that deprived him of the remainder of the season since April, including the final of the Uefa Europa League, and the first matches of the Scottish Premier League in this new edition of the competition. However, Morelos has not taken advantage of the minutes that Giovanni van Bronckhorst gives him.

The truth is that Alfredo Morelos is no longer a starter at Rangers in Scotland and is now a card to finish off in the second half. The Scots will have to risk their lives in Eindhoven when they visit PSV in the second leg of the Champions League Play-offs in a series tied at two goals. However, in the local league the countenance is different due to the expulsion they earned against Hibernian.

On the weekend, Alfredo Morelos entered at 62 minutes and 13 later, he saw the red card for an attack on a rival. With ten players, Rangers had to endure a draw at two goals. Graeme Souness, a Scottish benchmark who played for the Glasgow club, and led them while still a team player, exploded against the Colombian striker.

During an interview with TalkSport, he threw a saber at Alfredo Morelos. He started by wondering, “what’s on his mind? If you do that, you will be expelled. There comes a point where you need to cut your losses with a player like that, in my opinion.” Souness was so hard on Morelos that he asked to be put up for sale for this type of behavior, which is not the first time it has happened with the Cordovan.

Not only did he ask for his sale, but he also said that he shouldn’t play these kinds of games, and that Rangers should make a financial profit, “I think it’s a fact that you can’t trust him. You can’t trust him in the big games. He scores goals, but if Rangers were offered money for him, he would take it. He hasn’t learned his lesson so I think Rangers should look to cash in as you won’t win the big games with 10 men. The reality is, if you get kicked out eight times, that suggests you’re not learning.”

Graeme Souness was not the only one who analyzed the expulsion of Alfredo Morelos. Former Celtic player Kris Commons compared it to Darwin Núñez, “Darwin Núñez was sent off for headbutting an opponent in a match against Crystal Palace at Anfield last Monday night. When I was watching the game on TV, I was sure it would be the most idiotic incident I’ve seen on a football field all week. But Alfredo Morelos was not far behind. His red card against Hibs at Easter Road on Saturday was equally inexcusable under the circumstances,” he wrote in his Daily Mail column.
