“Aiming for National Championship” Encouragement for All-Japan Junior High School Athletic Tournament Participants | YOU Yokkaichi

On August 12th, an encouragement party was held at Yokkaichi City Hall for athletes from junior high schools in Yokkaichi City to participate in the National Junior High School Athletic Meet. This year, 65 students will participate in 5 sports from 5 schools in the city.[Athletes who talked about their goals for the tournament at the encouragement meeting = at Yokkaichi City Hall]

Players who participated in the competition in judo, swimming (diving), volleyball, basketball, and rubber-ball baseball participated in the encouragement party. At the encouragement meeting, individual athletes were introduced in individual events, and representatives were introduced in team sports.

Yoshimi Ishikawa, vice chairman of the Yokkaichi City Council, gave encouragement, saying, “It’s wonderful that you’ve decided to participate in the national tournament by improving your physical strength, skills, and teamwork every day. I want you to make this a tournament you’ll never forget.”

As goals for the tournament, “I will do my best so that I don’t have any regrets because it’s my last tournament in junior high school”, “I will do my best”, “I will aim for the national championship”, and “I will fight with the thoughts of the team that I have fought so far”. And so on, the players were talking powerfully
