TAfter the contract extensions for important top performers at Borussia Mönchengladbach, rainer Daniel Farke also wants decisive newcomers in this transfer period. “The latest news for our squad has been very good. But we still have work to do until the end of August, »said Farke on Thursday and indicated that the Bundesliga club was still trying to get two or three players for attack, the flank and midfield.

Borussia are talking to ex-national player Julian Weigl from Benfica Lisbon and Croatian striker Dion Drena Beljo from NK Osijek. According to Sky information, the Gladbachers should already agree with the 20-year-old Beljo.

In the past few days, Borussia head of sport Roland Virkus had succeeded in extending the contracts of attacker Alassane Plea and national player Jonas Hofmann. “Big compliments to those responsible. That was outstanding work in those times, »said Farke. “But it is also clear that we still have to strengthen ourselves.” In Matthias Ginter (Freiburg) and Breel Embolo (AS Monaco) important players left Gladbach in the summer. Farke also recalled that Gladbach was “caught in the relegation battle for a long time with this squad”.

It is also unclear whether there will be further departures by September 1st. The contracts of Marcus Thuram, Ramy Bensebaini and goalkeeper Yann Sommer will expire next summer. In the case of Thuram and Bensebaini in particular, the club wants to avoid free transfers in a year.
