Mallorca, with goals from the Kosovar Vedat Muriqi, in the first half, and the South Korean Kang-In Lee, in the second, won at the Vallecas Stadium against Rayo, in a match corresponding to matchday 3 of the League Santander.
Mallorca’s first goal came after a defensive failure by Rayo. Dani Rodríguez anticipated the Senegalese Pathé Ciss with a ball, started the race down the left wing and, upon reaching the bottom line, put a measured cross to the head of Muriqi, who finished off across the bottom of the net.
The second goal for the Balearic team came in the 64th minute after another defensive mistake, in this case by Iván Balliu, who badly cleared a headed ball that left Kang-In Lee alone in front of the goalkeeper, who crossed his shot against Stole Dimitrievski.
With the victory, Mallorca adds four points in three days, the same as Rayo, and both are in the middle of the classification.
