A ‘dream team’ that promises success: Pete Alonso confirmed his presence in the World Baseball Classic with the United States

The cleanup hitter and star of the New York Mets, Pete Alonso, became one of the new additions to the United States National Team that will participate in the upcoming World Baseball Classicwhich reaffirms the great team that the American nation will have in the competition.

The announcement of the incorporation of Alonso was made by USA Baseball through the social network Twitter along with an image in which he appears with the Mets jersey.

“The polar bear is #ALLIN for the United States team in the World Baseball Classic” was the message that the account published, receiving almost 10,000 likes after the news.

And it is that the ‘Team USA’ is putting together a dream lineup because in addition to the participation of Alonso they will also say present Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels), who will also be captain, Nolan Arenado (St. Louis Cardinals), Bryce Harper y J.T. Realmuto (Philadelphia Phillies).

With them, Trevor Story (Boston Red Sox) y Paul Goldschmidt they will also say present to represent the United States.

Alonso will join the American team by accumulating numbers this season that will give him votes for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the National League, product of 29 homers, 97 RBIs and a .277 average.

The United States will arrive at the contest to be held in 2023 as the current champion of the tournament after defeating Puerto Rico in the final in 2017 to win his first trophy; will share in Group C along with Mexico, Colombia and Canada.
