Dhe SC Paderborn maintained the top of the table on the 6th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga. The SCP did not get past 2:2 (1:0) at FC St. Pauli despite leading twice, but still leads the ranking with 13 points.
Marvin Pieringer (44th) scored for the SCP, Etienne Amenyido (84th) made it 1-1. The supposed 2:1 for Paderborn by Sirlord Conteh (85th) was not given after video evidence because of offside. But in the second minute of added time, Conteh scored to make it 2-1 for the guests, 107 seconds later David Nemeth (90+3) equalized for the home side.
In the 51st minute, SCP keeper Jannik Huth saved a penalty kick from Leart Paqarada. This was preceded by a foul by Marcel Hoffmeier on Manolis Saliakas. Huth parried the third penalty in the second division in a row.
East Westphalia’s closest competitor, Darmstadt 98, did not get past 2-2 (1-0) against 1. FC Heidenheim. Braydon Manu (36th) scored the opening goal for Lilien, Patrick Mainka (70th) scored the equalizer. Frank Ronstadt (76th) made it 2-1 for the home side, but Tim Kleindienst (82nd) managed to equalize again. Paderborn and Darmstadt are tied at the top of the 2nd division.
In Saturday’s third game, Karlsruher SC won 2-0 (1-0) against Hansa Rostock and celebrated their third win in a row. In the table, KSC jumped to sixth place with ten points. Philip Heise (18th) gave the Karlsruhe team a deserved lead with a wonderful direct acceptance. Malik Batmaz (40th) increased for Karlsruhe.
