Women’s Euro 2022: England humiliate Norway and are the first to qualify for the quarter-finals

The English, victorious in opening of Austria (1-0), are already assured of the top 8. The other meeting of group A saw, earlier in the evening, the Austrians come to the end 2-0 of the Northern Ireland, already eliminated.

Georgia Stanway opened the scoring for England in the 12th minute from the penalty spot. Lauren Hemp had already doubled the bet four minutes later (15th, 2-0). Ellen White (29th, 3-0, 41st, 6-0) and Beath Mead (34th, 4-0, 38th, 5-0) added four more goals before halftime.

In the second half, Alessia Russo (66th, 7-0) and Mead (81st, 8-0) for her third personal goal of the evening, set the final numbers at 8-0.

The Lionesses are thus the first to score at least 7 goals in a Euro (men and women).
