The two French drivers have experienced opposite trajectories before their home Grand Prix this weekend.

Miscellaneous fortunes. Since the start of the season, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly have both had very different successes at the wheel of their single-seaters. Just reading the driver rankings is enough to sum up the situation: 8e of the championship (52 points), the first city made a satisfactory start to the season, to say the least, while the second, 13e (16 points), languishes at the bottom of the grid.

A situation opposite to last year and a big leap back for Gasly, brilliant 9e last season with his points record (110 points). In distress in recent weeks, the Norman drags his soul in pain at the wheel of an AlphaTauri with which he had become accustomed to superforming, chaining supersonic times and finishes in the top 10. “I’ve always preferred to look ahead, so hopefully things will work out with the improvements on the car this weekend,” confided the interested party from Le Castellet this Thursday.
