With Samuel Bastien, Vincent Kompany comes shopping for the first time as a Burnley coach in the Jupiler Pro League. According to the rumor mill, the Belgian trainer would still have a few players from the 1st class on his list.
For Bastien it will not be his first foreign adventure. Anderlecht’s youth product played football in Italy for Avellino and Chievo and played 35 games in Serie A before signing with Standard in 2018. For the past 4 seasons he has been one of the mainstays of the Rouches.
Bastien, who plays internationally for the Democratic Republic of Congo, has signed a three-year contract in Burnley. “He is a great asset to our team,” said Kompany.
“Samuel is a midfielder who provides a lot of energy, works hard and recovers a lot of balls. We are delighted to get him and look forward to welcoming him to our team.”
