Video: Alexander Bah started his engagement in Benfica with a goal and an assist!

Slavia beat Puskás Academy 1:0 on Sunday as part of the warm-up before the new season. The game itself was not very interesting compared to the match against Rapid Bucharest, it was played very hard. More precisely, the Hungarian team played hard.

The first two friendly matches were handled well by the seamers. Played Olympiakos Piraeus was a baptism of fire at the start of the preparation and a 1:1 draw can be considered a success, almost everything worked in the 7:1 win over Rapid Bucharest.

The third game and the general in one was more like a match with the Greek champion. The opponent was not afraid to tighten up, the game was a lot of pieces, in the end the only goal shot by Moses Usor from the first half decided.

“The game suffered because the pitch was dry. It wasn’t good for the opponents either, because they had great movement, were pushy and annoying. They played quite hard, under pressure. Of course it’s a friendly game, but they were pretty fired up.” said Zdeněk Houštecký for the club website.

After resting after the international break, Slavia returned to the lineup with two more representatives, Lukáš Provod in the midfield and Ivan Schranz, unusually, on the right side of the defense. Ondřej Lingr also jumped into the second half for the first time in preparation.

The match was all the more specific because Czech representative Patrizio Stronati and ex-Slavic player Alexandru Baluta entered Puskás’ lineup. The Hungarian club also trains Zsolt Hornyák, who you may remember from his time at Slovan Liberec.

“Slavia already has a reputation in Europe today, and coach Hornyák was also there, who wanted to get on us. Some jokes were made, but in the end it was a good and quality match.” the assistant coach continued.

For Slavia, Sunday’s match ended the second pre-season training camp and they traveled to the Czech Republic. In Prague, he will prepare for the first sharp match, which he will play on Thursday, July 21, as part of the second preliminary round of the European Conference League against the winner of the double match Larne vs. St. Joseph’s.

For the red and whites, the most important thing about the match with Puskás is that no one was injured. The opponent played hard, especially against Provod, who returned from injury, but this is the style most Czech clubs play against Slavia. Remember the matches at Baník or Slovácko. You always hurt too!

“We are a technical company, they took it from the floor. I think it’s good for us, that’s how most teams in the league will play against us. It’s good that we got through it, the guys have to get used to it and come to terms with it,” added Houštecky.
