Many more tournaments are coming up: After her short-term decision to compete in mixed doubles at the Grand Slam in Wimbledon, Venus Williams announced another surprise. In a YouTube video, the 42-year-old announced her return to the WTA Tour and spoke of “many upcoming tournaments that her fans can look forward to”.
Short, compact, clear
“I’ll try hard”: “Hopefully you can see one of my games at one of the upcoming tournaments. I will do my best for you in the coming months. Stay tuned,” Williams says to her fans, adding: “I’m really happy that I’ve started training again.”
Long injury break: The American tennis legend last played a singles match on the WTA tour at the end of August last year. Her sister Serena has too celebrated her solo comeback after a one-year injury break. The 40-year-old was eliminated in the first round in three sets by French Harmony Tan.
