United States and Canada win Badminton Youth Pan American

Santo Domingo, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) After two weeks of competitions, the xxx Santo Domingo 2022 Junior Pan American Badminton Championship concluded today in the Dominican capital, held at the Parque del Este Table Tennis Pavilion.

The representatives of Canada and the United States carried the medals of the tournament played in the sub13, sub15, sub17, sub19 and team categories.

The Americans reached 11 gold medals, while the Canadians collected nine during the singles tournament.

In the U19 category, Canadian Josh Nguyen won the gold medal by beating his compatriot Víctor Lai (21-13, 21-13), who was the wide favorite in the category, while in the Canadian duel Jackie Dent defeated (21 -14, 21-12) to Chloe Hoang.

The men’s doubles went to the American duo of Aaron Bai and Ryan Ma, who defeated their countrymen Andre Chim and Andrew Yuan 22-20, 13-21, 21-15.

Also, the girls from Canada, Jessica Cheng and Nong Sophia beat the representatives of the United States, Chloe Ho and Ella Li, 13-21, 21-18, 21-7.
