United by the Gandia Basketball it remains in Liga EBA

Units pel Bàsquet Gandia will continue next season 2022-2023 in the EBA League and will not be promoted to LEB Plata as the board intended. And it is that the entity from Gandia was playing both sides. On the one hand, the board was planning the coming campaign to compete in EBA, but at the same time it had a plan B in case it could go out in LEB Plata. In fact, UpB Gandia has presented the relevant documentation to the Spanish Basketball Federation to be included in the two competitions, although, logically, the main option and everyone’s wish was to occupy a place in LEB Plata.

Units pel Bàsquet Gandia, which did not achieve sports promotion to the LEB Plata, hoped that one of the clubs that did manage to get on the field of play in the final phases of last May would give up their place or also that of those who were already in the category left their position vacant, in both cases for not being able to face the demanding conditions imposed by the FEB. The entity from the capital of La Safor was prepared to face the challenge, both sportingly and economically, according to its leaders.

The solution was made known this Tuesday, July 5, after the meeting of the delegated commission of the FEB in which all the requests of the clubs with sports right and those other candidates to cover the possible vacancies that could be generated were analyzed and validated, such as this was the case of Units pel Bàsquet Gandia.

Last Friday, the Federation closed the registration period for the different FEB 2022/23 competitions: the LEB Oro, the LEB Plata and the EBA League for men and the LF Endesa, the LF Challenge and the LF2 for women.

Another important novelty in Units pel Bàsquet Gandia focuses on the change of sponsor, after the club has confirmed the company Angels Optics, with the Angels Vision brand, will no longer be the main sponsor of the first team.
