U-19 National Team Manager AFF Decision Response: Clear and No Problem

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Manager Indonesia U-19 National Team Endri Erawan stated that PSSI accepted the AFF’s decision regarding the Vietnam vs Thailand match in Thailand AFF U-19 Cup 2022.

“We thank the AFF for responding to the official letter from PSSI. After the official letter from the AFF, we (PSSI) accepted the decision,” said Indonesia U-19 national team manager Endri Erawan on PSSI’s official website.

Endri said that PSSI sent a letter of protest to the AFF because they wanted to express doubts about the Vietnam vs Thailand match.

“Basically the letter only wanted to question whether the match was fair play or not. Now everything is clear and there are no more problems,” he continued.

The Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) has finally responded to PSSI’s letter regarding the match between Vietnam and Thailand in the preliminary round of Group A of the U-19 AFF Cup at Madya Stadium, Jakarta, 10 July 2022.

At that time, PSSI considered that this match was not considered to be running in accordance with the principle of fair play, especially after the 80th minute when both teams seemed reluctant to attack.

The match ended 1-1 and resulted in Indonesia failing to advance to the semifinals. PSSI then wrote a letter to the AFF to ask whether the match was fair play or not.

In a reply letter, the AFF appointed Sports Radar to look for indications of cheating in the match. The AFF also brings technical analysis experts to provide input and study the supervisor’s report and match equipment.

Not only that, the AFF also asked for input from the Chair of the AFF Legal Committee who is also the Chair of the AFC Disciplinary Committee (Komdis).

With all the above input, it is concluded that no rules were violated in the last 12 minutes match between Vietnam and Thailand.
