Tomorrow the XVI Medieval Market begins with crafts, animation and music

La Nucía travels to the Middle Ages this weekend, through the XVI Medieval Market that will feature crafts, entertainment and music. With this activity, La Nucía commemorates the 317th anniversary of the foundation of La Nucía (1705-2022). Admission to the public will be free and free.

The opening of the XVI Medieval Market of La Nucía will be held tomorrow, Friday, July 8 at 6:00 p.m. and will be located in: Plaça Sant Antoni, Carrer Els Xorros, Plaça Santa Teresa, Carrer Major, Carrer Enmig, Plaça Sant Josep and Plaça Major. The XVI Medieval Market of La Nucía can be visited on Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 7 July from 18 to 24 hours.

Visitors to the Medieval Market will find handicrafts, gastronomy, street theater, dance, music, craft demonstrations and lots of entertainment for three intense days. The Medieval Market is an initiative of the City Council of La Nucía to celebrate the 317th anniversary of the population (1705-2022) and is organized by START (Association for the Improvement of Traditional and Current Crafts), which guarantees that all stalls have exclusively Author Crafts.

Authentic craft stalls

The Medieval Market of La Nucía will be made up of stalls of authentic author crafts with live demonstrations, where artisans will make pieces to order at the time and for the public. There will be ceramics, shoes, bags and belts, glass, designer jewelery and costume jewellery, carved and turned wood, handmade soaps and much more. Some artisans will demonstrate their skills and invite the public to participate by making a clay bowl on the potter’s wheel among other activities. In the gastronomic corner you will find food stalls: artisanal cheeses and sausages, nuts, bread and sweets, as well as a medieval tavern, a grocery store, a creperie and a tent with Arab food.

Night entertainment and children’s attractions

In addition to the decoration and medieval stalls there will be troubadours, stilt walkers, knights, dancers, musicians and other characters will mix with the public, ensuring that it does not get bored at any time. There will be shows (fencing, dance, jugglers, etc) and will close every night a great show with fire in the Plaça Major. For children there will be a toy library with medieval games, pottery workshops and a fun carousel.

To complete the medieval atmosphere there is a small camp where they make medieval combat and archery demonstrations and workshops. The market closes every night with a fire show in Plaça Major.

Parking gratuito

All visitors to the Medieval Market of La Nucía will be able to free parking less than 50 meters from the fair in the Les Nits car park (400 spaces)located on Porvilla Avenue in front of the Health Center and in the Planet parking lot.
