Tiziano Prome debuts in the U17 World Cup « Diario La Capital de Mar del Plata

The Argentine men’s U17 basketball team will debut this Saturday in the World Championship of the category that is played in Spain, in a duel that he will hold with his pair from Egypt, in a match corresponding to the first date of zone D in the ecumenical event.

The match will take place at the San Pedro Alcántara stadium in the city of Málaga, starting at 3:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. in Argentina).

The team led by coach Leonardo Gutiérrez (current coach of Ciclista Olímpico) carried out intense preparation in La Banda, in addition to a series of friendly matches in France.

The “albiceleste” team will face Poland this Sunday (also at 10:30 am) and will close the group stage on Tuesday 5 by measuring themselves against Australia (from 8 am).

After a first stage of three games, all teams will advance to the round of 16, where the knockout phase will begin.

It will be the sixth edition of the international competition organized by FIBA. Argentina had its best performance in 2012, with a sixth place finish.

Zone A: New Zealand vs. Canada and France vs. Serbian.

Zone B: Dominican Republic vs. Japan and Lithuania vs. Spain.

Zone C: United States vs. Lebanon and Mali vs. Slovenia.

Zone D: Argentina vs. Egypt and Poland vs. Australia.
