The United States confirms its third player for the 2023 World Baseball Classic

MLB star and third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, Nolan Arenado will play the World Baseball Classic for the second consecutive time with the United States team looking to revalidate its championship title, as announced by USA Baseball.

“He helped us win in 2017, now he is determined to defend the title. Nolan Arenado is ready“USA Baseball published through its Twitter account, along with an image of Arenado and the hashtag #ForGlory.

The third baseman who won nine Gold Gloves, becomes the third player confirmed by the American team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic, following Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout and Boston Red Sox infielder Trevor Story.

It should be remembered that Arenado was one of the pillars of the United States team who was crowned world champion in 2017 after defeating Puerto Rico in the final.

In the current MLB season, the infielder of Cuban descent exhibits a .293 batting average with 18 home runs, 59 RBI, 43 runs scored and an .881 OPS.

The United States team will seek to repeat the title in this tournament, which for the first time it will bring together 20 teamsbeginning March 11, 2023 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Americans are part of Group C, which also includes Mexico, Colombia and Canada.
