The sad farewell of Julián Álvarez

Julián Álvarez, who will continue his career at Manchester City, today said goodbye to River Plate in a goalless draw against Vélez for the Copa Libertadores round of 16 rematch, which determined the elimination of Núñez’s club.

Álvarez could not score and therefore closed his campaign in River with 54 goals, one from the Colombian Rafael Borré, who continues as the top scorer of the cycle led by Marcelo Gallardo.

River closed Álvarez’s transfer to City at the start of the year. The player signed a contract for five and a half years, in an amount of 21,411,500 euros gross for the entire passwhich must be paid by the English club through a payment plan of five installments with final maturity on July 31, 2023.
