The measure of the Central Bank that complicates the arrival of soccer players from abroad to Argentina: the Borja and River case

Given the economic crisis, no more operations are authorized in the official dollar to transfer abroad. Problem at the door for national football.

Given the deep economic crisis that Argentina is going through, the Government made a decision that will strongly affect the arrival of soccer players from abroad.

The Argentine Central Bank already announced a week ago, in the face of a new run on the US currency, that it does not authorize more operations in the official dollar to transfer money abroad. This complicates the clubs because they had that chance to pay less pesos for the operation.

Today the official dollar is at 126 pesos, without counting Country taxes and 35 on account of profits, this is more than one hundred percent less than the 280 pesos per unit that are currently requested in parallel markets.

Borja’s pass to River, in check due to problems with the dollar

River had arranged the arrival of Colombian striker Miguel Borja and was waiting for authorization from the Central Bank to transfer the dollars abroad, to pay Junior and Palmeiras, clubs that share the pass.

Given this new provision, the operation is complicated and with an increasingly black forecast.
