The fifth date of the Metropolitan Table Tennis Circuit arrives – El Sol de Toluca

The Metropolitan Table Tennis Circuit that takes place month after month in the gymnasiums of the Adolfo López Meteos Sports Unit of the UAEM will reach its fifth day this Saturday, July 16, the event will bring together the best local exponents and entities nearby in nine divisions.

For this edition, space is limited to 90 players who will start competitions at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 3:00 p.m. with the award ceremony. The fair is organized by the Table Tennis Association of the State of Mexico directed by Edgar Madrigal.

The competition system consists of a classification key to form the divisions with 10 participants who will be divided into two groups of five players, the first places of each sector will face each other to determine the champion of each division.

Each player is guaranteed a minimum of six matches. All matches will be played in 3 of 5 sets at the 18 professional tables (ITTF) that have given prominence to the event and have allowed increased participation with table tennis players from other entities such as Querétaro, Veracruz, Mexico City, Hidalgo, among others.

The fair, in addition to the good level of the athletes, maintains one of its main attractions, which is the award ceremony, since the first five places in division one will obtain an economic incentive; the winner will receive 1,200 pesos, second 1,000 pesos, third 800, fourth 700 and fifth place 500 pesos, for the rest of the divisions (2 to 9) a special commemorative shirt from the sponsors.

Edgar Madrigal, president of the Table Tennis Association of the State of Mexico and organizer of the circuit, stressed that the event remains a benchmark for players from the central zone of the country to increase the blank for the commitments of the season. .

The best exponents of the Toluca Valley are expected, among them those of the highest institution of studies of the entity (after competing in events such as the National Universiade and National Games), but also from nearby entities that have allowed athletes to obtain better parameters of the level reached.

Some athletes who have been protagonists in the contest include Guillermo Muñoz from Querétaro, Jude Okoh from Mexico, as well as Anel Gutiérrez, Manuel Franco, Pavel Gutiérrez and Mikael Muñoz, Tania García and Monserrat Molina from UAEM.

More recently, athletes such as Luis González, Bogdan Olivos, Rubén Arado, Daniel García and Ricardo Fernández have joined.
