“We replaced some players whose contracts expired in June with selected footballers. We are doing everything to move in calm waters in the first league,” Zbrojovka’s sports manager Tomáš Požár does not want a repeat of the season before last, in which the Brno team immediately went back to the second league after promotion.
The team strengthened on the edges of the defense. Matejov Slovák came from Zlín on the right and Divíšek from Slovácko and Granečný from Baník can start on the left. The middle of the field should be strengthened by Falta, who did not fit into the smaller squad in Pilsen, and the Nigerian speedster Alli. “We have all posts duplicated. There is competition in the team,” says Zbrojovka coach Richard Dostálek.
Nevertheless, he would still like to strengthen the team. “The transfer window does not end. We are also talking about the arrival of two fighters. One of them should be a stopper,” claims Požár. In the backroom, the name of central defender Čihák, who should come to Brno on loan, is being floated. “We are interested in him. We’ll see how it turns out. But Pilsen is not the only club, with by which we act,” he revealed.
Although the Brno team did not concede a single goal in the last three preparatory duels with Bratislava, Kroměříž and Jihlava, they scored only once. “The positive thing is that we were getting chances. The second thing is that we have not been very productive. I attribute it a little to fatigue from demanding physical training. With lighter legs, things will probably start to fall for the boys in the league,” Dostálek would welcome.
Jakub Řezníček, the best gunner of the last second league year, hopes for the same. “I never scored many goals in training. I believe that we will have a blast in the league and it will work for us. It needs to be started on Saturday. I am really looking forward to the match with Slovácko. I already missed the highest competition,” the Brno captain confided.

According to the coach, Zbrojovka will face one of the toughest opponents at the start. “We will not influence the lot. The Hradišť team has made a significant jump in performance in recent seasons, but we will do everything to make it through the season. After all, the start always matters a lot,” Dostálek realizes. Two players from Brno are said to be suffering from minor injuries. “We’ll see if they get together by the weekend,” he doesn’t want to be specific.
The municipal football stadium in Srbská street, where Zbrojovka plays home matches, will be renamed ADAX INVEST Arena. The Qualified Investors Fund, founded together with the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce, is the club’s new title partner.
