Táchira eliminates Santos from the Copa Sudamericana

Deportivo Táchira became historic in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana after beating Santos from Brazil 4-2 on penalties.

After 90 minutes in which both tied 1-1, at the Vila Belmiro stadium of the São Paulo team, the Lider portal reports.

The Venezuelans stood up to Santos who only wanted victory, but collided with a black and white wall and with a goal by Anthony Uribe at minute 27, gave the team a jump in spirits that continued to attack and well planted against the home side.

The locals reacted until they tied at 68 of the game through Leonardo, but it was not enough for them.

The Venezuelans looked for the second without getting it and left the entire stage for the penalty shootout.

The Venezuelan goalkeeper would have revenge in the penalty shootout. Varela became a giant in the first (Ricardo Goulart) and fourth collection (Lucas Barbosa), which gave Táchira a 4-2 victory.

On penalties, Táchira scored through Edder Faría (he entered late in the game), Renny Simisterra, Rafael Arace and Marlon Fernández.
