Table tennis – EM squad for Munich is fixed – sport

The German Table Tennis Association was the first association to nominate its twelve-strong squad for the European Championships in Munich – and Sabine Winter, the local hero from TSV Schwabhausen, was also there. The 29-year-old recently became German singles champion, and her opponent in the final, Han Ying, is now leading the squad. In addition, Nina Mittelham, Shan Xiaona, Petrissa Solja and the talents Annett Kaufmann and Franziska Schreiner from Lower Franconia are on offer. The men should also compete with the best players: Dang Qiu, new German champion and top ten player, record European champion Timo Boll, Patrick Franziska, Benedikt Duda – and of course Olympic hero Dimitrij Ovtcharov. The third from Tokyo got in touch with Bayern on Thursday. First he advertised for the Multi-EM in Munich, then he drove on to the squad presentation of his new employer, the TTC Neu-Ulm.
