DOUBLES COMPETITION. 1 GOLD, 2 SILVERS (3 MEDALS)
Title achieved by the young 13-year-old from Burgos, María Méndez, who together with her partner, the Aragonese Silvia Paris (School Zaragoza) made a competition of bells and they were eliminating rivals in a very clear way, to stand in the final, against the great favorites for the final victory, the Catalans Irina Gimeno (Vic TT) and Renata Syshpsa (Reus Ganxets).
The match for gold was dominated at all times by María and Silvia, who were proclaimed Champions of Spain after winning 3/1. The first gold of the Burgos woman, which did not come alone, and which in the future will say a lot on the national scene.
Extraordinary silver medal achieved by the two best players from UBU RM Terán, María Berzosa and Elvira Rad, who came close to winning the final against the players from Son Cladera (Mallorca), Eugenia Sastre and Ainhoa Cristóbal (they yielded by 3 /1 ).
The same fate befell the brothers Aritz and Ibai Sanz, who in the juvenile category, were one of the sensations of the tournament, with great play and victories, which made them overcome rounds, until the final, where they were defeated by Roc Gibert and Ladimir Mayorov (Cassá TT Gerona) by 3/1.
INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION. 1 SILVER, 2 BRONZE (3 MEDALS)
Hard-working silver medal, achieved by another young value from the Rio Vena Civic Center youth academy, Aritz Sanz, at 13 years old, the Burgos native, who started as number 3 seed in the juvenile category, had a sensational individual competition.
In the semifinals he had a tough match, 3/2, against the Aragonese Alvaro Gimeno (School Zaragoza), who gave him the pass to the final, in it, he could not with the good table tennis of the Colombian Emmanuel Otalvaro, who won by 3 /1, depriving the Burgos of the gold.
Outstanding performance by María Berzosa, who at 15 years old, being a child, was the sensation in the female youth event, where she won a bronze medal and was close to the final, since she fell in the semifinals by 4/2, against the champion, Majorcan Eugenia Sastre (Son Cladera) in a fantastic clash between both players.
And second medal for the youngster María Méndez, who in the individual modality, offered great matches and triumphs, until the semifinal round, where she was defeated by 3/1 against the champion, Renata Syshpha. A match penalty, since last month in the Top Masters in Burgos, Maria was able to win 3/0.
