Sporting proposes an increase in subscriptions “of a maximum of 100 euros” and assumes a cut in the salary limit of “several million”

Sporting presented this Thursday its new season ticket campaign for the 2022-23 season with a price increase that implies a rise “of a maximum of 100 euros” on average in receipts, as explained by David Guerra, executive president of the rojiblanco club . “We started a moment of evolution as a club. We evolve together so that the club returns to where it belongs and we are all part of that process”, said the leader of the Gijon team. He assumed that it is a decision that “is not the one that the fan would like, but it is the one we have to take” to try to alleviate the “complex” economic situation and improve a salary limit that, at this time, placed “several million below” from 9.7 last season.

“Many thanks to the fans for the welcome, for the affection we have received in recent days. Of them and of all the authorities. It redoubles our spirits to continue with the project. We are very excited to kick off a season that we hope will be very positive. It is very important that we are all together supporting and that we all feel identified with what happens on the pitch”, underlined David Guerra at the beginning of the presentation of the new subscriptions. A campaign with which, he pointed out, he hopes that “the 20,000 subscribers will be exceeded”

The new prices of Sporting season tickets

The prices of Sporting tickets will not register a linear increase for all, but the increases will be higher for “the most exclusive areas” of the field, those reserved for the west stand. In this way, the most expensive subscription goes from 475 euros to 690, in sector E of the west grandstand. The cheapest, in the “Animation Stand”, goes from 135 euros to 150, registering a smaller increase. David Guerra has confirmed that the conditions agreed with those who renewed with option A last year will be respected, that they will continue to have 50% of the discount, taking as a reference that the amount linked to the previous receipt will be deducted. As for the new registrations, prices range from 790 euros to 175 euros. The renewal of cards begins at 5:00 p.m. Only at the El Molinón Subscribers Office.

“It’s going to be difficult to match the salary limit,” commented David Guerra regarding last season’s figures. “We were going in a negative direction economically. Even with the capital increase coming, only a minimum could be included in the salary limit”, added the executive president, who pointed out that the right moment to execute this capital increase that the Orlegi Group is studying is being analyzed.
