Shock diagnosis: Texans rookie John Metchie III has leukemia

Texans Wide Receiver John Metchie III announced on Sunday that he is likely to miss the entire season after being diagnosed with leukemia. It is APL (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia), the most curable form of leukemia. “I am currently receiving excellent medical care, I am in good spirits and I assume that I will recover,” said Metchi confidently. In the near future he sees himself stronger than before on the field.

Houston picked Metchie with the #44 pick in the 2022 NFL draft. The wide receiver played three seasons at Alabama and rushed for 2,000 yards and 14 touchdowns in 30 games.
