Seven Lynx athletes back from regional badminton championship

Seven Lynx athletes from École Jésus-Marie de Beauceville took part on April 7 in the Badminton regional final for high school athletes from the Réseau du Sport Étudiant du Québec in the Chaudière-Appalaches region (RSEQ-QCA). It was held at the Notre-Dame juniorate and at L’École Marcelle.

Results

Cadet double mixte

Tristan Chouinard and Mélodie Morin, gold medal.

The duo won their first two encounters and lost in their third game. The team earned a place in the Grand Finals in the semi-final. The two athletes won the final, which allowed them to qualify for the RSEQ division 2 badminton provincial championship from April 26 to 28 in Amqui.

Youth Women’s Doubles

Lydia Morin and Cascendra Poulin, silver medal

The Morin – Poulin team finished in the final earning a silver medal. The champion team not being able to appear at the provincial championship, Lydia and Cascendra obtain their pass for the provincial badminton championship.

Women’s Singles Juvenile

Maude Poulin, bronze medalist

Maude Poulin was participating in her first high school championship. She lost in the preliminary round in four games. The athlete got a bronze medal.

Juvenile Mixed Doubles

Lea Fortin and Anthony Poirier

Léa Fortin and Anthony Poirier had two wins and three losses, and lost in the round of 16.

During this championship, the athletes represented the Sports Association of Private Institutions of the South Shore (ASIP Rive-Sud).
