HE is planning his future in Freiburg!
Vincenzo Grifo (28) was gone twice. In the summer of 2019, the Italian international finally returned to SC Freiburg – now he has extended his contract, which previously ran until 2024, ahead of schedule.
Grifo: “I feel incredibly comfortable in Freiburg and have found a piece of home here with my family. We are also on the right track in terms of sport and I would like to do my part to continue on this path.”
Especially in the coming season in the Bundesliga, Cup and Europa League. And that not only requires a strong Grifo, but also an outstanding squad.
The left winger to BILD: “We’re slowly getting full now. A lot of players stayed, we have a good quality in the squad. Due to the triple burden, we need good players and a broad squad so that we can switch.”
For the 16th time, the people of Freiburg are in Schruns, Austria, for preparation – for the sixth time Grifo is there. “I slowly get to know everything here. The conditions are great, as always.”
But good conditions or not – most pros find the preparation annoying. “I’m generally a total family person. That’s why it almost annoys me that I’m not with my wife and daughter, but time goes by well with the boys,” he explains with a smile.
