Salary Cap set at $ 123.655 million

The National Basketball Association announced today that the Salary Cap has been set at $ 123.655 million for the 2022-23 season. The tax levy level for the 2022-23 season is $ 150.267 million.

The salary cap and tax levy level go into effect at 12:01 am ET on Friday, July 1. Teams can start trading with free agents today at 6pm. ET – six hours before the league “moratorium period” begins. The moratorium period ends at 12:00 on Wednesday 6 July.

The minimum wage team, which is set at 90% of the salary cap, is $ 111.290 million for the 2022-23 season.

The collective bargaining agreement provides for three different intermediate level exceptions depending on the salary level of a team. The median level of non-payers for the 2022-23 season is $ 10.490 million, the median level of taxpayers is $ 6.479 million, and the median level for a team with space under the salary cap is $ 5.401 million.
