Red Devils Lead 2-0 in First Half

Manchester United temporarily took the lead over Aston Villa in the first half of pre-season matches. The Red Devils led two goals without reply.

Competing at Optus Stadium, Perth, Australia, Saturday (23/7/2022), MU appeared to dominate since kick off. Several opportunities can be obtained by Erik ten Hag’s troops.

In the 7th minute, Harry Maguire almost made a goal. His header, utilizing Luke Shaw’s pass, was still secured by Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Four minutes later, Jadon Sancho also threatened. Now his shot from outside the penalty box forced the opposing goalkeeper to fall and secure it.

In the 24th minute, MU can get a goal. Jadon Sancho who listed his name on the scoreboard.

Starting from the transition of MU’s attack from right to left, Bruno passed the ball to Rashford on the left side. Then, Rashford passed the ball again to Luke Shaw, who ran into the box.

Shaw then released a pull pass into the middle, and it could be passed on to Sancho, who was standing free in front of goal. Score 1-0 to MU.

Aston Villa is quite difficult to reply. Steven Gerrard’s men almost did not get a significant chance against MU.

Even MU can make the second goal. Aston Villa’s Matty Cash scores an own goal.

Starting from Sancho’s cross to Rashford, the ball can be forwarded by the MU striker with a kick. However, the ball hits Cash, and changes direction. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez could not anticipate it. Goals, and MU lead 2-0.

In the remaining time of the first half, no additional goals were created. While Manchester United lead 2-0 over Aston Villa.
