Record at the Iker Casillas Campus

The 12th edition of the Campus organized by the Iker Casillas Foundation has broken attendance records after two weeks in which 159 boys and girls have enjoyed nature, have practiced different activities and have lived together sharing the values of sport. Fifty of them have received full scholarships as they are young people in vulnerable situations.

The campus has lasted two weeks. The first took place at the Naturávila facilities and the second at the Venero Claro Children’s Colony. The boys and girls have enjoyed practicing different activities such as football, basketball, badminton, pickleball, canoeing, driver education, swimming or archery. In this way, the participants learn values such as effort, commitment, perseverance, sacrifice, ability to excel, teamwork, acceptance of results, etc. One of the objectives of the camp is to live new experiences and be in contact with cooperative activities, in addition to improving their skills with the ball and in any of the sports practiced.

The novelty in this edition of the campus was the presence of the Fly-Fut company that recorded the activities of the boys and girls with drones so that they would take away an indelible memory.

At the closing ceremony, diplomas and medals were awarded to the winners in the different categories, but if the Iker Casillas campus stands out for something, it is for its education in values in a practical way, for which those boys and girls who more have made an effort helping others showing generosity, empathy, respect and effort.

Casillas himself did not want to miss this farewell ceremony until next year. After thanking the good behavior of the boys and girls, the trust placed in them by the mothers and fathers, the efforts of the monitors and the staff, he wanted to highlight “the contribution of Banco Santander for having joined us in this initiative that we have carried out for so many years organizing from my Foundation and that it is one of the most beautiful activities and of which I am most proud».

The Iker Casillas Campus has been possible thanks to the work and collaboration of different foundations such as the Iker Casillas Foundation, the Clínica Menorca Foundation, the Real Madrid Foundation or the Ávila Foundation, in addition to other entities such as the Red Cross, Adidas, Ávila Provincial Council, Naturávila, Colonia children Venero Claro, 380AMK, Fly-Fut or La Casa Grande de Martiherrero.
