PSG: Donnarumma sends a strong message for his future! – Soccer

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has spoken about his future in the capital. The Italian international leaves no doubt about his plans for the future.

Donnarumma says he is happy at PSG

Arrived last summer at Paris Saint-Germain, Gianluigi Donnarumma (23) spent a special first season in the capital, where the Italian had to deal with an alternation with the Costa Rican Keylor Navas. Nevertheless, it takes more to make the European champion regret his choice.

Donnarumma sees himself staying at PSG for a long time

In an interview with the official PSG website, Gigio spoke of his pleasure in playing at Paris SG. This club is something incredible that you can’t even explain. It’s a family for me. I am happy to be here, I hope to stay here as long as possible, to write the history of this club. I really hope so confided the transalpine international.

Under contract until 2026, Donnarumma therefore sees himself staying in Paris for many more years. A desire shared by the club which has chosen to make it the real number 1 for the coming season, thus ending the alternation among goalkeepers. Despite undeniable qualities, Navas no longer represents the future at 35 and will have to settle for a role of n2, unless he finally decides to leave.

Galtier, a method that pleases

After a first season in Paris under the orders of Mauricio Pochettino, Donnarumma discovers the methods of a new coach, Christophe Galtier, who replaced the Argentinian on the Parisian bench this summer. And the former Milanese is under the spell: We change constantly with the coach, he has a great relationship with everyone, he talks to everyone and I think that’s the most important thing.

The PSG goalkeeper also evokes the tactical change operated by Galtier, who decided to install a three defense. The coach likes high pressing a lot, so I have to cover spaces well, but I’ve worked on that before, so there’s no problem. (…) Defense three changes a few things, but we just need to put some details in place. We are well on our way to making it work. The Parisians will have the opportunity to prove it during a first official match against Nantes, this Sunday (8 p.m.), for the Trophe des Champions.
