BOLASPORT.COM – The reigning World Superbike (WSBK) champion, Toprak Ratzgatlioglu, revealed his best time record during a private test with Yamaha in MotoGP. Stoprak’s nick seems quite promising.

Toprak Ratzgatlioglu had the opportunity to test the Yamaha YZR-M1 used by the tuning fork manufacturer in MotoGP in a private test on June 21.

This private test opportunity was Yamaha’s gift to Toprak Razgatlioglu for his success in winning WSBK in the 2021 season.

Razgatlioglu won a fierce competition with the reigning champion, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki), before claiming his first title in the Superbike class in the last series in Mandalika, Indonesia.



Razgatlioglu’s title streak not only broke Rea’s and Kawasaki’s dominance for six consecutive seasons but also broke Yamaha’s title drought in Superbike since 2009.

Strong performance in Superbike has also made Ratzgatlioglu’s name has been linked with the Yamaha squad in MotoGP in the last two years.

The racer from Antalya, Turkey, was mentioned as a potential replacement for Valentino Rossi when The Doctor was rumored to be retiring in the 2021 season.

It is natural for the public to be curious about Razgatlioglu’s potential with MotoGP bikes.

Razgatlioglu himself is quite confident in his potential. It’s just that adapting to a typical MotoGP prototype bike still takes time.
