OM: McCourt is now asking for sales! – Around OM

It is a logical continuation in the transfer window phase. Initially, OM recruited six players (Gigot, Touré, Mbemba, Suarez, Blanco and Clauss) and hope for a positive outcome in the Darko Lazovic case. But now, Marseille leaders must tackle sales, a task that will not be so easy and yet essential…

We learn this Sunday via Provence what Frank McCourt would have raised this subject during a meeting with Paul Longoria in the United States last June. Indeed, the President of Marseilles had traveled to the American continent with Peter Iriondo (Director of Strategy) to discuss the future of the club with the Marseille owner.

And the regional daily understands that the balance of accounts was at the center of the subjects. The American owner first recalled that he has invested more than 400 million euros since his arrival. But he would also have clearly announced “no more wanting to hand over the wallet” as long as there have been no player sales.

As a reminder, since the start of the transfer window, OM have recovered only 1.5 million euros for the sale of Lucas Perrin in Strasbourg. The loan with the quasi-automatic purchase option of louis henrique is expected to net the club €8m.

To continue its recruitment, OM will therefore be obliged to make good sales, and a departure from Bamba Dieng has been mentioned in particular for a few days. Other departures are expected such as Strootman, The knees, Alvaro et Caleta-Car.
