Olot remains intractable in Europe

The CPA Olot continues to extend its domain in European figure skating. The Garrotxins won the fifteenth continental title in large show groups at the PalaGalassi in Forlì, Italy. The other team from the demarcation in the championship, CPA Girona finished fourth at the gates of the podium, despite signing a great performance.

Everything suggested that the starting order of the draw was that the last four participants in the European Championship would play all three places on the podium. By the time the Italian Royal Eagles performed “Nothing Happens by” it was already clear that the bar had risen. The Italians became provisional leaders. The joy did not last long, because behind him acted the team of Ricard Planiol.

On a court that did not live up to some Europeans, where you could clearly see the white marks of the area and the central circle of a blue futsal court, the CPA Olot again signed a memorable performance . Presenting, once again, the album “Escalant” that has given them so many successes -with the championship of Girona, Catalonia and Spain- the Olot team ate the narrow Italian track. The wardrobe was simple but effective. The group was able to convey the moments of tension in an office and manage to break free at the end of the performance. The final climb to the scale of the skater in the sky of the PalaGalassi again catapulted the CPA Olot to the European Olympus. It seems that the last roof they have left to climb will be the World Cup.

The bittersweet aftertaste was for CPA Girona. The team led by Nuri Solé signed a great performance. Last on the track, with the album “Sinapsis”, the women of Girona once again showed perfectly all the stages of life and the characteristic features of each of them. With an attrezzo with a lot of presence as the stages passed, and using neurons and brain networks as a guiding thread, the CPA Girona once again proved that it continues at the highest world level of figure skating. With all the notes above nine, both technical and artistic, there was the feeling that the performance deserved some higher position. In the end, the Italians of Cristal Skating, second, and the Royal Eagles, third, accompanied the podium to Olot.

The next challenge for the two Girona teams will be the World Cup in Argentina in November.
