PSG have paved the way for Nice coach Christophe Galtier. The Paris club is saying goodbye to trainer Mauricio Pochettino – as has long been expected. The Argentinian spent a year and a half at PSG.
Pochettino guided PSG to the league title again last season – after a year without it, but again disappointment for the Qatari owners followed in the Champions League. PSG was already knocked out by Real Madrid in the eighth finals.
Although Pochettino still had a one-year contract in Paris, it was equally clear that the board did not want to continue with the Argentinian. It had its eye on Christophe Galtier.
The way seems clear for Galtier now, as PSG would pay around 25 million euros to cancel Pochettino and his staff’s contract.
