OFFICIAL: Getafe signed Luis Milla

Luis Milla Mazanares, son of former coach of the Indonesian national team, Luis Milla Aspas, has officially joined Getafe.

Getafe brought Milla from Granada for €5 million. The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a contract until June 2027.

Getafe became Milla’s second club in the Spanish Primera Division after being listed as a professional player since 2013. Previously at Granada in the 2020-2022 period, he failed to avoid his team from relegation last season.

Two seasons at Granada, Milla scored four goals and six assist. Last season, he became a regular in Aitor Karanka’s squad.

“I am excited for this new challenge. I want to work with new colleagues and start that now. A very special day for me, thank you for the welcome. Come on Geta!,” said Luis Milla junior on social media.

Meanwhile, his father, Luis Milla, welcomed the new chapter of his son’s career positively. He has not coached since parting ways with the Indonesian national team in August 2018.

“Happy and proud of all your achievements @luismilla_6. Thank you to @getafecf for the trust,” said Milla’s post.

Interestingly, Getafe – who finished in 16th – were only one point ahead of Granada who finished in 18th place and were thrown into the Segunda Division last season.
