“Not quite finished yet”

Even though Bayern have already done their homework on the summer transfer market with Noussair Mazraoui, Ryan Gravenberch and, above all, Sadio Mané, there will still be a lot going on in Munich in the coming weeks. According to Bayern Honorary President Uli Hoeneß, Bayern are not yet finished when it comes to transfers.

Chief squad planner Hasan Salihamidzic and club boss Oliver Kahn made it clear last week, during Sadio Mané’s official presentation, that they would keep their eyes and ears open until the end of August. According to Salihamidzic, whether Bayern will hit the transfer market again depends largely on the financial possibilities. In addition to a new central defender, FCB is also looking for a midfielder.

“There is nobody at FC Bayern who doesn’t like this transfer”

Uli Hoeneß is quite satisfied with the Munich team’s results so far. Nevertheless, the 70-year-old assumes that there will still be things happening at FCB: “I do believe that we are well prepared for the coming season. Our sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was very busy during the summer break. This isn’t quite finished yet. But the way it looks, I believe that we are making a good team available to coach Julian Nagelsmann,” said Nagelsmann on the sidelines of the “Neuland” future congress in Aachen.

Hoeneß also commented on the transfer coup with Sadio Mané. According to the long-time Bayern manager, Bayern have hit the bull’s eye, which is extremely important in sporting terms: “We’re not doing this to send out signals, we’re doing it to strengthen our team. Sadio Mane is a player we’ve all always liked. When it became clear that something could be done, we were all enthusiastic. There is nobody at FC Bayern who doesn’t like this transfer.”
