Niklas Süle is looking forward to the “unique” yellow wall

National soccer player Niklas Süle is looking forward to his new home after moving to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

“You played here as the opposing team, but you were always kind of looking forward to this game because it’s unique in Germany how the yellow wall stands behind the team,” said Süle in his first interview with BVB on Saturday.

The new Dortmund defender is counting on the support of the fans in the upcoming season. “If we manage to have the fans there for us every weekend with good and honest football, then we will always go into a game with a few percent advantage,” said Süle, who after five years with the German record champions Bayern Munich has signed a four-year contract signed with long-time rival BVB.

Süle only has positive words for Nico Schlotterbeck and Karim Adeyemi, the other new DFB players in BVB jerseys. Both are “very fine guys” who he “likes” and “excellent talents”.

With his time at TSG Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich, Süle carries a blue and red past with him, colors that Dortmund don’t like to see.

But he quickly wants to win skeptical fans over to his side. “I can do that by showing good performances and people see: ‘Hey, he’s throwing himself in for the club colors’, and that’s definitely what I intend to do,” said the former Champions League winner.
