The game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks in Munich is sold out within minutes. Immediately after the end of free ticket sales, there are the first offers on the black market – at exorbitant prices.
AIt was clear to everyone that the arena in Munich is far too small for this event. For the first time, two teams from the NFL will be playing a regular season game of the world’s best football league in Germany next November. The hype about the showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Super Bowl winners 2021 and team of superstar Tom Brady, has been gigantic for weeks.
The NFL expected there to be 1.5 million ticket requests for the Buccaneers-Seahawks game at the 75,000-seat stadium. The premium ticket packages (499 to 661 euros per ticket), which went on sale on June 14, were sold out in just two minutes.
On Tuesday at 10 a.m., the league started selling regular tickets, which cost between 75 and 155 euros, on its website. After a few minutes, all tickets were sold out. But it didn’t take long before some of them could be bought again – on the black market at exorbitant prices.

For example, someone is offering two tickets for block 107 in the lower ring on Ebay for 4,900 euros. In regular sales, both tickets cost 280 euros – a whopping increase of 1750 percent. Ticket holders also want to cash in on the hospitality tickets, so two tickets are offered here for 7000 euros, for example.
“Historical Game” in Munich
75,000 spectators will be there in Munich when the Buccaneers meet the Seahawks. “This historic game will play a critical role in the NFL’s efforts to expand its international presence while allowing us to speak directly to NFL fans in Germany,” said Buccaneers owner Joel Glazer.
The fact that football is staged in the Munich Arena is a novelty. So far nothing else but football has been played in the FC Bayern stadium. The Munich record champions have had a partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs for years, and the Bavarians have been working closely with the NFL since the opening of the US office in Munich in 2014.
