Neymar, the parents of the Brazilian soccer player and the former presidents of Barcelona Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu will be tried from October 17 at the Provincial Court of Barcelona for alleged corruption in their contract for the Barça club in 2013.

In the trial, which will be held until October 31, the defendants face prison sentences, following the complaint filed by the DIS investment fund, which had 40% of Neymar’s federal rights and is considered to have been swindled for not collecting what he owed when his signing was finalized. The Prosecutor’s Office requests two years in prison for Neymar, as many for his father and one for the mother of the player who currently plays for PSG.

So, Sandro Rosell was president of Barça and Bartomeu vice president. DIS, a Brazilian company specializing in the football market, estimates, like the Spanish Prosecutor’s Office, that crimes of corruption between individuals and simulated contract fraud were committed during the operations that took place between 2011 and 2013 and culminated in its transfer to Barcelona from Santos.

The former Santos manager Odilio Rodrígues and three legal entities will also be tried for their participation in the ‘Neymar case’: FC Barcelona, Santos and N&N Consultoría Esportiva, a company of the Neymar family.
