Mirotic’s Achilles tendon worries Barça

BarcelonaBarça are worried about Nikola Mirotic, who has problems with the Achilles tendon in his left foot and will be out for at least a few weeks. The Blaugrana player, who already contested the final leg of the Liga Endesa with discomfort, is being subjected to a conservative recovery treatment that will last for the next few weeks.

The first diagnosis rules out that the Montenegrin winger will have to go through the operating room, but his return to the playing fields will depend on how he evolves. If the response of the Achilles tendon is not good, his layoff could be extended for a few months. Since the end of the 2021-22 season, the player has been under the control of the club’s medical services.

Barça has a busy start to the season. The first official tournament will be the Catalan League, which is scheduled for September 20 and 21 in Tarragona. Their opponent in the semi-finals will be Básquet Girona, which aspires to sign Pierre Oriola. The player is convinced of this, but he still has to reach an agreement with the Barcelona club to disassociate himself from it. The next challenge will be the Endesa Super Cup, which will be played in Seville on the 24th and 25th of the same month. Then the culer team will start the regular season of both the Endesa League and the Euroleague, which will start on October 7.

Barça, which is negotiating with MoraBanc Andorra for the transfer of Oriol Paulí, has strengthened itself with Jan Vesely, Tomás Satoransky, Oscar da Silva and Nikola Kalinic. Nick Calathes and Pierre Oriola have a contract, but they are already negotiating the termination because they are not part of the plans of a Barça team that Scottie Wilbekin has assembled. The fear of running out of a Turkish passport pushed the player to sign for Fenerbahçe.
