Pep and Bayern – still a love story!
When Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola (51) saw Bayern’s team manager Kathleen Krüger (37) between the press conference and training in the catacombs of “Lambeau Field” (home of the Green Bay Packers), it was all about him: he hugged “his” Kathleen cordially, chatted with her for so long that he didn’t even come onto the pitch until his boys were already in full swing.
Pep about Kathleen and his Bavarians: “It’s still love! I was so happy in Munich, the club, the city. Very happy to meet the old players, Kathleen! Unfortunately, Hoeneß and Rummenigge are no longer here. But I only have good memories, the great restaurants, Schumann’s Bar, Schuhbeck’s…!”
BILD asked: With so much love for Munich – is a comeback even conceivable? Pep laughs: “No! I would be too old. And they have an exceptional coach now. I will come back to visit the city to go to the arena. Kathleen will definitely get me two tickets.”

Today there is the duel AGAINST Bayern – and the premiere of Erling Haaland (21) for City!
Pep: “If he doesn’t fall out of bed and break his ankle, then he’s playing against Bayern.”
Haaland did not play in the last city test in Houston
Pep on the Haaland influence: “Haaland will have an effect. We scored a lot of goals last season. But it’s a top-quality player for us and we hope that we’ll find him in the box a lot and he’ll score a lot of goals.”
City now has a real nine again, Bayern no longer have any due to the departure of Robert Lewandowski (33). Pep: “Lewy will not be easy to replace. But Julian is a talented coach, he will come up with something and find a good way how to play without him. Bayern is always strong, they made great transfers. You can achieve the maximum. Sadio Mane is an exceptional player, very exceptional.”
