Madura United Clarification on Allegations of Harassment of the Red and White Flag Pages all

KOMPAS.com – Madura United has clarified the alleged abuse of the Red and White Flag at the launch of a new jersey for the 2022-2023 Liga 1 season.

The Madura United management explained that the accusation of flag abuse addressed by Indonesian netizens was a misunderstanding.

The process of launching the Laskar Sape Kerrab combat uniform has drawn criticism.

The reason is that the red and white cloth background used in the jersey photo session is considered similar to Sang Saka Merah Putih.

Not a few netizens were angry because in the photo session Beto Goncalves et al posed sitting and stepped on the cloth called the Red and White flag.

Madura United was also considered to have insulted the symbol of the state.

The COO of Madura United, Annisa Zhafarina Qosasi, has emphatically denied this accusation.

He straightened that the property used in the photo was not the Red and White Flag, but merely a red and white decorative cloth.

“So, basically it’s two red and white cloths that we make one, not a flag,” said the woman who received UEFA management coaching education. Kompas.com.

“Red and white here are actually two colors that symbolize Madura United,” he added.

Madura United itself has made the red and white colors its identity. It refers to the Sakera shirt, a traditional t-shirt typical of the Madurese community with a red and white horizontal stripe pattern.

Sakera’s shirt is also the main inspiration for the Madura United main jersey design.

The red and white color in Sakera’s shirt represents the firm attitude of the Madurese who never give up in the face of everything.

“I also understand why netizens can see it as a flag, but it’s not our intention to insult the flag,” he said.

Annisa Zhafarina Qosasi’s statement is reinforced by Article 4 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 24 of 2009 which states that the Sang Merah Putih state flag is rectangular in shape with a width of 2/3 (two-thirds) of the length.

The top part of the flag is red and the bottom is white, both of which are the same size, 10cm x 15cm for table use, while the fabric properties used by Madura United are of the wrong size and are not sewn.

However, Annisa admitted that she understood the points that created this commotion.

“We are grateful to netizens who have reminded us, God willing, we will be used as lessons to express creativity without being seen as harassing something,” concluded the long-haired woman.
