Morales had taken to the podium on Friday to be honored for his third place finish in the time trial event.

Early in the morning the swimmer Emma Guglielmello added the 22nd medal for the sport of swimming in the open water discipline. In combat, judo gave his fourth bronze medal in the mixed team event with Derik Rodríguez, Ettelimay Ramos, Juan Cintrón and Saicha Serrano.

“We have closed in an extraordinary way with the gold medal of the road cycling event with Christopher (Morales). This reaffirms that there is a future. Our boys and girls are well engaged and in good hands. It is simply to continue working with them day by day”said the president of the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee (Copur), Sara Rosario Vélez in written statements.
