On the weekend of 02.07. – 03.07.2022 seven Laufer Judokids were on the mat at the Alwin-Rauch Cup in Fürth.

On Saturday our U11s started with Ben Kellner, Karl Müller and Sophia Ertel. Karl was able to present himself well in his encounters and only had to give up one fight. He fought for a well-deserved 2nd place. Ben also showed good techniques on the mat and was able to secure 3rd place in his pool. It was Sophia’s first tournament, but she quickly found her way into competition mode and was able to score here one or the other time. With her it was a well-deserved 3rd place. As the day progressed, the U18s started with our fighter Halu Wetzel in the -60 kg weight class. In his first encounter against Julian Thaller from ATV 1873 Frankonia, Halu was able to take the lead at first, but then lost points and the fight as the fight progressed. In the second fight against Vincent Friedrich from TV 1860 Fürth, however, the runner was able to prevail. And in the third fight against Lev Babak Rybalko from TSV Dachau 1865, Halu showed a good performance, but had to admit defeat to this technically superior fighter.

On Sunday the U9 started. In this age group, the Judo Club Lauf was only represented by Valentina Frank. Valentina showed a great competitive performance on the mat and was able to put her opponents in their place. In the end it was a great 1st place for our youngest fighter. In the following U13, Lena Müller and Leander Puschke were on the mat for our club. Both showed a solid competition performance and fought for the 3rd place in their respective pool.
