Judo Club de Vic-Fezensac: a club that has regained its pre-Covid dynamics!

Last Saturday, the Judo Club of Vic-Fezensac held its general assembly at the Cosec.

The president, Guillaume Fontan, drew up the moral balance sheet.

The season started on September 14, after the Vic-Fezensac sports fair.

The proposed activities are articulated between initiation, practice and preparation for judo and Ju-Jitsu competitions.

The 2021/2022 season counted 91 licensees. We are seeing a return to pre-Covid “normal” 3 seasons ago.

The club was finally able to perform a full season with competitions, external speakers, departmental courses, end-of-season meals….

In sporting terms, the awakening / baby judo classes on Tuesday evenings always arouse as much interest for children and parents because they allow motor skills to be worked on and offer a playful approach to the basics of judo.

Among the largest, there is also an increase in new licensees who have integrated easily with the oldest, always faithful and assiduous and whose colors of the belt tend to draw towards the dark!

In terms of competitions, a small group of students is emerging and has brought back some good results on the departmental criteria of Vic and Condom and the city cups of Mirande and Houga.

In the spring, the d’Artagnettes women’s team cup organized by the Judo Club Gascon in Auch was back with 5 participants from Vicoise during a very friendly and much appreciated afternoon, congratulations to them!

The criterium organized at the multipurpose hall in November in partnership with the departmental judo committee allowed a smooth resumption of the competition following the 2 previous seasons disrupted by the Covid and brought in a few people, fewer than the previous editions. due to the absence of the mini-chicks category.

Congratulations to Eva and Giuseppe for their qualification and their participation in the West Zone Occitanie Championship.

Congratulations to Enzo Ardit who validated his title of department referee and to Yvan Taviani for his title of commissioner.

The club now has 3 stewards, 1 departmental referee and a national referee, essential elements to ensure the holding of the various competitions in a sustainable manner.

Regarding the monthly departmental elite training provided by Anthony Laignes, the club still regrets the low number of participants at club level and in general at department level.

It’s a shame because that’s how we progress more quickly.

This year, the club had the honor of receiving 2 times Messrs. Jacques SEGUIN and Jean-Louis JUAN, both 7th Dan and world experts who brought their expertise during training open to other clubs in the department in a great moment of sharing and conviviality.

This will be repeated next season.

Finally, it is appropriate to salute the work of coach Joël Soumeilhan who prepared Annick, Jean-Michel, Enzo and Guillaume throughout this season to present them successfully for the grades in Toulouse.

A little thought for Yvan who had also prepared and who couldn’t show up due to injury at the last moment.

The club regains the dynamic before Covid. This rediscovered dynamic is the result of the will of all the different actors: licensees, parents, committee, teachers and also of the community through its financial assistance (departmental and national sports pass, subsidies) and material.

The club thanks the town hall of Vic and its management for their precious help, whenever it needs it.

Balance sheet

Regarding the club’s finances, the 2021/2022 season to June 30 has a surplus of 2845.53 Euros.

This result is mainly due to the increase in the number of graduates as well as the grant from the municipality of € 2,500 and the recovery plan of the federation and the departmental committee to which the club sends its sincere thanks.

Perspectives :

In the projects, we note the partial renewal of kimonos.

The club will continue to encourage students to participate in various events such as the Temple/Lot international internship this summer by providing substantial financial support.

The club will organize the 2022 criterium on Sunday November 20, 2022, the room is already reserved.

Jacques Seguin will speak again.

Judo/health will be set up.

The club will finance the training of one (or more) judo teachers, because, even if Joël Soumeilhan, it is important to think about the long and medium term future!

Next year elections will have to be held in order to renew the office with the hope of seeing new members arrive.

The morning continued with graduation and awards before sharing an aperitif and a “short circuit” burger/steak meal from Laurent and Maria Bourguignon whose herd is a few hundred meters from the Dojo!
