Joffrey Lauvergne joins Asvel – L’Équipe

With Joffrey Lauvergne, it is a new major element of French basketball who joins Asvel. The 30-year-old International interior (2.11 m, 85 caps for the France team) has signed with Asvel for the next three seasons

“European Champion 2013, alongside Tony Parker, Nicolas Batum, Nando De Colo, Charles Kahudi and Antoine Diot, then bronze medalist at the 2014 World Cup and EuroBasket 2015, Joffrey Lauvergne therefore joins LDLC ASVEL by signing up for the long term with the club”says the official press release published on Friday.

After starting with the pros in Chalon-sur-Saône (2009), Lauvergne went through several European clubs (Valence, Partizan Belgrade, Khimki Moscow, Fenerbahce and Zalgiris Kaunas) as well as the NBA between 2015 and 2018 (210 matches played with Denver, Oklahoma City, Chicago and San Antonio).

“The arrivals of Nando and Joffrey represent a lot, said Tony Parker, club president. It is in the continuity of our project, to bring LDLC ASVEL as high as possible in Europe by putting French basketball forward. Their experiences will be extremely valuable in guiding this very ambitious group. »
