Jérôme Boateng talks about Bundesliga return | Sports

Do German football fans see Jérôme Boateng (33), world champion from 2014, in the Bundesliga again?

The former Bayern star is currently under contract with Olympique Lyon in France and spoke in an interview with the football magazine “kicker” about a possible return to the Bundesliga.

Boateng: “The topic is not closed. I can imagine a lot in Europe. That includes Germany because it’s a great league with great teams and great fans. The Bundesliga is not a no-go.” His contract in Lyon runs until the summer of 2023.

“No no-go” – Boateng can imagine Bundesliga comeback!

Boateng’s first season in France was mixed. In the second half of the season he was plagued by injury problems, and he was even briefly suspended by orienteering trainer Peter Bosz (58). At the end of the season, the former series champion in France – seven championship titles in a row between 2002 and 2008 – only managed eighth place.

Lyon have strengthened the team with the returnees Alexandre Lacazette (31/Arsenal) and Corentin Tolisso (27/FC Bayern) in order to at least be looking towards the Champions League and the championship again in the coming season.
